Isn't this the same issue? That's the problem you fixed for me. I can use the scroll wheel on the mouse to scroll, even if the scroll bar itself is hidden.

"Also, the user list says there are like 50 people in the chat right now, and all those names are listed."

These are users who never turn off their computer and leave a window open for the chat room. They might not be there in person, but their computer is.

Default Losing JamChat Members to BandHub.com

    To JamPlay Management:

I don't know if you monitor and track active participants in JamChat, but I am pretty sure the number of active participants in JamChat late at night is down. My guess is this is the result of the on-going technical issues, coupled with a new competitor--BandHub.com. BandHub.com gives us the ability to record music with other members, them mix it together, and enjoy hearing the results.

Hopefully the disappearing text and improper scrolling will get resolved soon.

    Thanks,
    Ed K.

    Hi Ed,

That sounds like a pretty cool site. This really isn't a competitor perse as the jamming space has never really been our goal, but it does look nice.

I know I keep saying it, but a fix is coming. It's requiring a pretty substantial rewrite on Matt's end. I tried to help, but even though I've been learning a bit of React, I can't bring myself up to speed fast enough to effectively help bugfix this issue.

Thank you for the update, Jeff. I'm glad to hear Matt is working on it. --Ed

Hi guys, occasionally when you tube links are posted - a smiley with a halo emoticon is presented in the copied YT url link.
Last night making a comment regarding the time (that the old folks stopped boogie-ing at a rediculousy early hour), I included the time as such 10:30 CDT
Chat altered that inserting the halo emo between the first "1" and the last "0"
I was too lazy to screen cap it but it repeated after repeated attempts - repeatedly, badoom cssh (he he lol)
Not a priority of course - maybe an indicator of an issue within
Thanks for all the hard work gentleman - all in all a much more mature chat experience - fine in house job - your gold stars are in the mail, free beers await your next visit to Chicago. Salute and cheers.

upon sober review - simply removing the halo emoticon would solve the bad copied url links - or everybody just use the yt share link
I know i over thought this entire post

They should probably require whitespace on both sides of an emoticon.

Default Jam Chat is Getting Worse

Jam Play team--Jam Chat is getting much, much worse. While suffering through Stuart Ziff's technical issues this evening, we all noticed that what we typed was getting dropped (i.e., erased or never appeared) about 50% of the time. This went on for some time and I eventually gave up. It's just too frustrating.

I went back two hours later. The issues are just as bad. I left again. It's just too annoying.

Is it time to finally throw in the towel on this? How long has this been a work-in-progress? I have got to believe there is a solution available. Adobe Connect, Zoom, Skype, Blackboard Collaborate, Citrix GoToMeeting, Cisco WebEx, Join.Me all offer similar functionality that permits typing and camera sharing. Google Classroom might also offer similar functionality.

Can't we just implement an "off-the-shelf" solution? Who cares if it uses some technology that is going out of favor? At this point, the current JamChat is marginally acceptable. If it only dropped text once every ten times we typed, that would be tolerable, but now with it dropping every other line or every third line, it's just ridiculous.
