Jason, I'm sorry but you have only addressed ONE of the TWO problems that appear. Yes, we are aware that the scrolling doesn't work. What I do is hit the period "." immediately after I type something to advance the scroll to see what I just typed. That will take care of the issue you have noticed. However, as I have said, and BD has said, and Dennis Hodges as said (and others, too, I suppose) is that many times no matter what you type and hit enter, it does not appear at all. I can press the "." key following this a dozen times and what I typed will still not appear.
Booth is aware of this, because he was on a few nights ago and acknowledged the issue.
Well the chat is dropping lines like crazy right now! One member just made this suggestion: Maybe they should park themselves in here at night for about two hours and experience it and see what a pain in the *** it is.
The next suggestion was this one: Could they please put the old chat back in here until this chat dropping of so many typed messages can get resolved.
Members are leaving again...it's too frustrating.
The number I was referring to is circled in this image. Larger numbers seem to correlate with worse text loss in the chat. I thought if I posted the image here as well other members could see if that is also true for them.
Basically, when you type a message, could you send me a note on JamPlay, or to my e-mail email@example.com with the text of the message and time sent (include timezone). I need to see if these messages are getting through at all to the database, which would mean a display issue, or if they are just disappearing.
I'm not able to reliably make this happen, so it's very tough to troubleshoot.
Rolling back is REALLY not something we want to do as it would require all teachers to go back to using FMLE, so we are hoping we can resolve the worst issue in the next couple of days.
After this is done we will tackle the scrolling problems. Those are "annoying" but not just straight broken.
Also for the suggestions that ram is the issue, we haven't maxed out ram a single time so I don't think that can be the issue. But we will investigate to make sure.

What I find interesting there is that of the few shown, there are two pairs with matching time-stamps. Does that mean each was submitted at the same time to the second (possible, unlikely) or that the server let them sit for a second or so (possibly off getting coffee) and then did them both at once? If so, maybe it drops some in the batch sometimes?
right now I can't text - just after dave issacs started - was cool for hours before - try it you won't like it
