Now I do play the song and have for a few years but never really through about the key. As I always just thought it was the key of A that I used based on what I found on the internet. Now what is confusing and I know it will be theory which I don't know much about. But when you gave us the chord chart I noticed something about the song make up and just learning about modes which is probably my problem. The chords in the song don’t work in my view well with the Key of A but more along the line of the Key of G playing in the A Dorian (2nd position) mode. As the chords that I use are as follows,
    Verse - A – C – D – A –C – D – A
    Refrain – G – G/F# (walk down) – Em – G – C- Em – A – C - Em – A
    Course - A – G – C –D – A – G – C – Em – A – C - EM – A
    As you know in the key of A we have A – Bm – C#m – D - E – F#m – G#dim
    And in the Key of G we have G – Am – Bm – C – D – Em - F#dim ,
It quit on the apostrophe in the quote from Julius K above. BUG. I'll edit this to a plain ASCII quote.

I was going back over the chords for this song in light of the chord substitution chart from week 9.
That does help. It shows the song to be a heavy mix of chords from the key of A and the parallel minor key Am, together with exotic (to me anyway) chord progressions. I guess if it sounds okay anything is allowed.

After doing this I discovered that I do have the sheet music to this song so I don't have to rely on some guy on the internet getting it right (the chords above are right). It is written in the key of A (before the capo) with accidentals on C and G, which means it could have been written in the key of G. Which means it could be A Dorian ?????

Just started these last week. EXCELLENT. EXCELLENT.
He did mention in one lesson that there would be something posted about Masterwriter, a free trial, and discount. I would really like to try this, but can't find the information in the boards. Help.

I believe that's in his downloadable PDF from week 10.
