Personally I think Gibsons in general are overpriced but no denyiny they are great guitars
Oh man that is beautiful! Not sure what 1300euros is in Canadian or US dollars but it looks so good and would sound perfect.
As an owner of an Translucent Amber 2013 Les Paul Standard, I can say I love the heck out of my axe. Very well made, looks awesome, and is able to shake the walls if necessary.
It IS expensive, that's true. But, it will last your whole life if you take care of it.
Do it!

I love the look and sound of an LP, but the weight does me in, too. I got rid of a nice BC Rich back in the day for the same reason. My back just couldn't take the strain, and neither are good to play in a sitting position.
"Practice, practice, practice. Practice until you get a guitar welt on your chest. If it makes you feel good, don't stop until you see the blood from your fingers. Then you'll know you're on to something." - Ted Nugent
Les Paul Standards are very nice guitars, and I would never dissuade someone who wants to own one. However, I recently purchased a 2016 Gibson Les Paul Studio in Satin Fireburst and am very happy with the purchase. If you compare the specs of the 2016 Studio to a Standard, you will find it is very similar with only minor cosmetic differences besides the neck shape (the Standard has a teardrop shaped neck relief, while the Studio has a traditional guitar neck shape), and both guitars are manufactured in the USA. The biggest difference is the price. Here in Canada, Les Paul Standards start at around $2000, while I picked up my studio for under $1000.
Anyways, I just thought I'd mention the 2016 Studio models as they really are a steal right now. However, you really can't go wrong with either choice.
